Mary Anne Clark is a lifelong Demarest resident and grew up in a historic Bogert home. She was invited to join the Demarest Historical Committee when it formed and asked to be the borough historian, a position she's held for twenty-five years. As borough historian, Mary Anne was active in the Demarest Historical Society and its work on the Sautjes Taves Begraven Ground (the old burial ground) and the preperation for the restoration of the railroad station, until the Historical Society's dissolution. Before the pandemic, she led fourth-graders on local history tours every year. She has worked with people around the US and in Europe to help them research Demarest, Davies, Bogert, and other family history.
