Mark Wright was born and raised in Bergen County and taught English, Humanities, Film Criticism, and Creative Writing at Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest for thirty-four years, retiring in 2003. For thirty years, he frequently visited New Orleans and played with the jazz musicians at Preservation Hall. He has travelled extensively and won numerous awards. He is currently the organist and choirmaster at Christ Episcopal Church in Hackensack.
