Ramsey LibraryCon 2023!

Ramsey LibraryCon is back!

We last offered this event back in 2019 and we are very happy to be bringing it back in 2023. We have lots of attractions and activities for all ages and all about comics, Manga, graphic novels and pop culture. Here are some of the many activities we'll have during the day:

  • An Artists' Alley to meet and greet with comic, manga and/or graphic novel authors and illustrators
  • Ecto-1 NJ - the Ghostbusters vehicle in our front parking lot for photos and fun!
  • A costume contest with prizes (2:00pm to 3:00pm) - register for the costume contest upon arrival - for anyone under 18 years old
  • Members of the 501st Legion and the Northeast Remnant Garrison - costumed characters in movie-grade Star Wars costumes for a meet and greet, photos and fun :)
  • A gaming room with video games (Switch, NES Classic and SNES Classic) plus board and tabletop games
  • Superhero crafts all day for kids
  • A photo booth with props
  • A Pokemon Go station for swapping friend codes, plus we'll have lures running all day at the three lures on library grounds
  • Refreshments, including freshly made popcorn, hot pretzels, water, Capri Sun and more
  • LibraryCon 23' Lanyards for all attendees

We have some fantastic artists participating in our event this year in our Artists' Alley. You'll be able to meet all of the artists, see examples of their work and purchase materials from them. Here is our list of participating artists:

David Crownson:
Writer and creator of the best selling Harriet Tubman: Demon Slayer as well as Nightmare in Newark, David has a vision to ultimately build a space that will give independent storytellers the opportunity to create fun and exciting content at a company where their work will be honored and elevated. David is also the CEO and founder of Kingwood Comics.

Michael Rex
MIchael Rex is the creator of over thirty books for children, including the number one bestseller Goodnight Goon and the Fangbone! series. He also illustrated With Any Luck, I’ll Drive a Truck (by David Friend). He was inspired to create Icky Ricky by his two boys, Declan and Gavin, who are fine young citizens, but very disgusting. Gavin eats ketchup on cake, and Declan uses a marker to color his belly button. Along with the boys, Mr. Rex lives with his wife and their dog, Roxy, in Leonia, New Jersey.

Luis Medrano
Born in Madrid, raised in Panama, took his first steps in art and hand-drawn animation at age 6 and became a professional animator in 1995. In 2003 moved to the United States to continue his career. Medrano’s art focuses on existentialism and an eternal and complex connection with the mind, the spirit and the emotions that arise from questions about the universe, the human condition and the self. He has been the recipient of three Emmy and three Promax awards for his work in design and computer animation for broadcast. He is also an Aikido martial artist and a musician/guitarist.
