Jonah Gold–"See Me, Not my Disability"

On Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in the library’s Mackay Room, motivational speaker Jonah Gold will share his personal stories of growing up with a disability and how he has become an advocate for inclusion in all communities.  His goal is for the audience to take away tools to feel more comfortable interacting with people of a variety of abilities.

Mr. Gold will share his experiences of growing up with a disability and how he has become an advocate for inclusion in all communities. He will share personal stories both positive and negative of how people have responded to his disability during his childhood and teenage years. Jonah's  goal is for the audience to take away tools to feel more comfortable interacting with people of a variety of abilities.  Dr. Laura Bejot, OTD ,  one of Jonah's former occupational therapists and good friend , will assist him with his presentation.

Jonah Gold is 25 year old spreading awareness in the community about disabilities. 
Born with a rare genetic disorder, Jonah uses a power wheelchair and needs assistance with most of his physical activities. While daily living is challenging, it has not stopped him from going to school, traveling and having a fulfilling social life. He believes it is his life purpose to change the stigma that follows people with a disabilities.
