An Introduction to Chinese Brush Painting and Beyond
We will start with a brief introduction of Chinese brush painting as well as material and supplies to be used to create the paintings.
For the beginner, you will learn how to paint bamboo, plum blossom, wild orchard and chrysanthemum, which represent four seasons. For more advanced students you will learn flower, birds and landscape, etc. A demo or two will be giving. You will have ample of time to create your own art work. We will explore Xie-Yi style, meaning “freehand” or “spontaneous.” Workshop will focus on quality of strokes, ink preparation and loading, rhythm, movement, energy(chi), compositions and more.
No prior experience required. All levels welcome.
This program is for River Vale residents ages 18 and older. Registration is required.
This program will run for 3 hours from 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Please register only if you are able to attend during this time period.
