Historic Property Research at Hoboken Historical Museum

Learn to research your property with James Cox, Special Collections Manager of Hoboken Public Library.  Find out where to look for information and how to organize it.  This event will take place at the Hoboken Historical Museum (1301 Hudson Street, Hoboken). No registration required.

Biography

Prior to becoming a librarian, James was an archaeologist.  Through his two careers he has amassed a wealth of experience researching historic buildings and events.  James received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and an MA in History from Rutgers University, Camden, and an MLIS from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He began working as an archaeologist in 1999 and a librarian in 2007.    

Special Collections

The Special Collections of the Hoboken Public Library are historical materials detailing the civic and cultural life of the city and its residents.  Within the collections are historic maps, city directories and newspapers-all useful for researching your property.
