Concert: Muneer Nasser Jazz Group -"A Soldier's Story"
The CD "A Soldier's Story" is the musical companion of the book, Upright Bass: The Musical Life and Legacy of Jamil Nasser is a musical tribute to Muneer's father, the late great bassist Jamil Nasser. The heartfelt zeal embodied in this music reflects not only his love and respect for his father's musical and humanitarian efforts but those of musicians selected for this recording.
"A Soldier's Story" has original music and some jazz standards like Caravan, Cherokee and more. Muneer has been giving presentations about his fathers history in jazz along with playing bluesy jazz music. Muneer brings back fiery jazz with a touch of the blues.
