Vegetable Gardening 101

Vegetable Gardening 101

In this presentation, we will discuss basic techniques for growing a healthy garden. These include location, planning, planting, weeding, watering, and pest and disease control. The emphasis will be on environmentally friendly methods. In addition to a PowerPoint presentation, there will be plenty of time for Q & A.

Robyn Lowenthal, Master Gardener of Bergen County, class of 2011, currently runs a Therapeutic Horticulture program for Developmentally Disabled Adults. She enjoys growing tropical, annuals, perennials, shrubs, and vegetables and is passionate about plant propagation. Robyn is an active member of the Garden Club of Teaneck, where she supervises the production of hundreds of coleus plants for their Annual Plant Sale. When not gardening, Robyn can be found canoeing, hiking, biking, traveling, cooking, reading, and entertaining her cats.
