Hobart Trio

The Hobart Trio is a chamber ensemble in residence at William Paterson University. The piano trio was founded in 2015 and regularly appears on academic and community concert series. It is comprised of highly accomplished musicians who are on the faculty at WPU: Kathleen Butler-Hopkins, violin, Joseph Kimura, cello, and Soyeon Park, piano. Individually, they have performed as soloists and with orchestras on National Public Radio, throughout Europe and the United States, including Alaska's Arctic Chamber Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall, and on Broadway. The trio's repertoire encompasses the classics and works by contemporary composers. The Hobart Trio takes its name from the 24th U.S. vice president, Garret A. Hobart, whose former home is a centerpiece on the University's campus.
