Friends Friday: Picasso -The Early Days
Explore the early, brilliant works of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso! After graduating from the Madrid Royal Academy of Art, Picasso moved to Paris when he was just 19 and embarked on his popular Blue and Rose Periods. He then turned to traditional African art, culminating in his 1907 Les Demoiselles des Avignon, while still in his mid-twenties. This art lecture is presented by an art historian and professor whose articles and criticism have appeared in Art Journal and Art in America.
