From River Edge To Broadway ... And Back!

Actor Bill Timoney - born & raised in River Edge - shares anecdotes of his Showbiz adventures

Bill Timoney grew up in River Edge, where the countless hours he spent at this library cultivated his fascination with the Arts & Entertainment industry.

Bill began his acting career on the soap opera “All My Children,” where he played the recurring role of preppie nerd “Alfred Vanderpool” from 1982 to 1987 (he returned to the role on a cameo basis from 1997 through 2005).

Bill specializes in voice acting; he can be heard in hundreds of films, TV shows and cartoons. He works dubbing Japanese “anime” into English (he’s voiced several recurring roles in the POKEMON franchise).

Bill’s Broadway stage credits include the 2014 “Best New Play” Tony Award winner ALL THE WAY, 2018‘s NETWORK (where he also understudied his longtime friend Bryan Cranston as TV news anchorman Howard “l’m mad as hell” Beale), last season’s hit revival of PURLIE VICTORIOUS (with Leslie Odom Jr), and the current revival of Thornton Wilder’s OUR TOWN (with Jim Parsons, Katie Holmes and Richard Thomas).
