NJ Makers Day is here again!  

It's one of our favorite days of the year.  Register for one of the special programs below or drop in and join us and students from Bergen Tech Chemistry Club in exploring technology, engineering, and architecture. 

 

Morning Session (11am - 1pm)

Building with Paper

Open to all, but young architects may need help from their grown ups.

NO REGISTRATION

Young architects build small scale models of famous structures or anything from their own imaginations.

Helicopters

Open to all, but young engineers may need help from their grown ups.  

NO REGISTRATION

Decorate and construct a helicopter that REALLY flies.  Explore potential energy and how it turns into kinetic energy.  Discover how HIGH your copter can go.

 

Afternoon session (2pm - 4pm)

Building with Paper

Open to all, but young architects may need the help of their grown ups.

Spool Racers

Best for ages 6+. 

NO REGISTRATION.

Decorate and construct a spool racer and then race other young engineers.  Explore how potential energy becomes kinetic energy with this hands-on fun project. 

 

FOR TEENS ONLY:

Guitar Den with the AirSynth - 2:30pm - 4:30pm

Best for ages 10+ .

Registration encouraged to ensure you get to try the AirSynth.  

Rich Casella with Guitar Den brings an awesome new instrument, the AirSynth, to the Tenafly Library. Do you love music? Computers?  AirSynth brings the two together in a unique and fun way turning body movements into musical sounds. Register to try this awesome instrument yourself.

Marble Mazes, 3pm - 3:45pm

Grades 6 and up ONLY. 

Registration required

Working on a Marble Run is the perfect way to create, decision make, problem solve, and HAVE FUN!  Work in teams of two to build a maze on the end of a bookcase.
