Beginning on Wednesday, April 16th, the tax team from United Way of Greater Newark will complete Back Taxes through Wednesday, April 30th 2025. Sign up for an available appointment to file taxes dating back to TY2021. If you need more than one year of back taxes completed, please sign up for an additional adjacent session to account for the additional time it will take.

Please note that you should bring the same documents listed in the checklist below to your appointment for the tax year you would like completed. Ex: If you are having taxes completed for TY23, bring your social security card, valid photo ID, as well as all tax documents showing income from TY23.

WHAT TO BRING

For married filing jointly, both spouses must be present Original photo identification such as driver's license, school, employer, military, or State ID for you and your spouse (if married) Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number documents for you, your spouse, and dependents Birth dates for you, spouse, and dependents A copy of last year's tax return All Forms W-2 and 1099 Form 1095-A, if applicable Information for other income Information for all deductions and credits Total paid daycare provider and their tax ID number For direct deposit of refund, proof of account and bank's routing number For prior year returns, copies of income transcripts from IRS (and state, if applicable)
