Tax Preparation Volunteers

Each year, our IRS tax law-certified volunteers help United Way and its partners file more than 5,000 free tax returns. As a result, struggling households save $1.5 million in tax prep fees. To get started on becoming a volunteer, sign up for a free training program using the calendar below.

Free Tax Preparation

United Way and its partners — the IRS, Norwescap, and Greater Providence Missionary Baptist Church — provides free tax preparation and filing services. Our IRS tax law-certified volunteers save struggling households hundreds in tax preparation fees. We also ensure eligible clients receive the tax credits and refunds they are due.
