"As a photographer, I sometimes wonder why I am drawn to certain subjects—just what is it that catches my eye? It might be an attempt to capture the unique or draw something new out of the mundane. It could be something gritty, the chance capture of a special moment, the way that light and shadows play with a scene. There have been countless times when I have returned to a location only to find that things have completely changed and that what was intriguing has disappeared.
