Adult Music Workshop: Percussion with Passion

Adult Music Workshop: Percussion with Passion

With Dalys Torres

Explore different non-traditional percussion instruments such as drums, bongo drums, buckets, clave, guiro, tambourine, cowbell, agogô bell, castanets, maracas, cabasa, triangle, cymbals, and shakers. Find the musician within. No prior experience with music is necessary.

Sitting around a Drum Circle, each participant will select a percussive instrument. The instructor will introduce an easy-to-repeat rhythm for the participants to follow, establish, improvise on, and finalize at the same pace and format. This dynamic is easy to manage and fosters opportunities to learn about one another, build confidence, nurture creative impulses, and maintain coherent rhythms within the group.

This program will be held in Community Room 1.
