Origami for Good x YW4W Girls Origami Making
Join an origami-making workshop in collaboration the non-profit, Origami for Good.
Join Claire from Pascack Valley High School, the co-president and co-founder of the non-profit organization Young Women 4 Women, which aims to build empathy and leadership skills in girls through service to women in need.
About the Non-Profits
Young Women 4 Women is dedicated to supporting underprivileged women in our community and educating younger girls about the societal issues that women face through social media outreach. They volunteer at various women's shelters and participate in events such as food pantry distributions, providing fresh groceries to mothers and women who are less fortunate.
They are collaborating with Origami for Good, led by chapter founder Mia, which uses origami as a means to spread kindness. They create origami and send it to soldiers, youth, seniors, patients, and other community members to inspire creativity and appreciation for Japanese art and culture.
For this joint event, they hope to facilitate a workshop where young girls (elementary and middle school students) can create origami pieces to be given to women and girls visiting local shelters, to brighten their days.
During the event, the focus will be on making origami to be handed out to women at shelters.
