Through musical interpretation and oral presentation—part musical performance and part history lesson—the musicians will showcase samples from the collaboration of Ellington and Strayhorn, highlighting what made this partnership so remarkable and what continues to delight listeners almost 100 years later.

About the Artist

During the past 40 years, Vinnie Cutro (musician, educator, and composer) has performed with renowned jazz legends such as Horace Silver, Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, Ron Carter, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Barry Manilow, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Four Tops, and The Temptations.

He has traveled extensively around the globe, performing at jazz festivals and concerts across Europe, Japan, Africa, Canada, South America, and the United States.
