Scott Pleasants is currently serving as the first Poet Laureate in the 130-year history of the Township of Teaneck, New Jersey. Originally from The Bronx, New York, he brings a distinctive voice shaped by his experience as a seasoned transportation executive and a United States Air Force veteran.

Scott is a published author, Pushcart Prize nominee, and a 2024 Reflections on Nature Literary Contest Award winner.  His writings have been featured in live and virtual readings both nationally and internationally, including appearances as far away as Tokyo, Japan.

He has performed and been featured at venues such as Harvard University, the Nuyorican Poets Café, the New York Poetry Festival, Busboys and Poets (Washington, D.C.), Fairleigh Dickinson University, Bloomfield College, Edgar Allan Poe Park, and the Puffin Cultural Forum, among many others.
