Painting with Tea: America 250 Edition
with Smriti Sangal, Culture Chauraha
Immerse yourself in a sensory art experience where brewed tea becomes your paint and history becomes your inspiration. In this aromatic workshop, participants will create sepia-toned artworks using tea washes, exploring warm gradients, soft textures, and the natural stain of tea. Surrounded by the calming scent of brewed tea, you'll experiment with brush techniques to build depth, contrast, and detail.
Using references inspired by the Boston Tea Party among other general motifs, you'll design expressive pieces featuring ships, slogans, and freedom-themed imagery--or create your own playful, modern interpretations. This workshop blends creativity with storytelling, offering a relaxing hands-on experience suited for all skill levels.
Participants leave with a beautiful tea-painted artwork and a newfound appreciation for this unique medium.
This workshop is designed for adults. All materials provided.
Registration is required.
