Intro to Public Forum Debate (Ages 11-14)

Come learn the basics of Debate from Demarest teen Brandon and Cresskill teen David!

This 4-session series will go over the standards of public forum debate (what public forum debate is, what are some topics that are argued, etc.), then they will move onto the structure of debate (constructive speech, rebuttal, crossfires, summary, and final focus), and potentially holding practice debates for the last class if time allows.

About the Presenters

Brandon and David, high school Juniors, started public forum debate during their Freshman year of high school. David has had experience with policy debate since middle school. They have won various awards in both national and local tournaments, including winning the champion title for the Cal Berkeley Fall Championships as well as the Georgetown Spring Debate Tournament.
