A Henna - Mehendi Workshop for Adults

Come experience the intricate art of henna as we celebrate Diwali. A centuries-old tradition used to adorn the body during festivals and weddings across the Global South—including India, Pakistan, the Middle East, and Africa—mehendi is both expressive and deeply cultural.

No prior experience is needed—we’ll have henna cones ready for you to use. We’ll begin with a brief introduction to its history, followed by practicing simple patterns before creating your own designs on your hands or on paper.

Our henna is chemical-free and safe for skin use, with paper options available for anyone who prefers not to apply it directly.

Wallington patrons will have priority during the first week of registration beginning October 7th. Non-residents will be able to register beginning October 14th.

You must enter a library card number to register, regardless of residence. Registrations without a valid library card number and out of town residents registering before their date will be canceled.

Registrants who haven't arrived after 10 minutes from program start time, forfeit their seat in the program.
