A method that takes an investigative approach to the study of family history and genealogy. In this presentation, you will hear from a historian who has 25 years of experience doing investigations on innovative approaches to genealogy and how to think differently. There is a wide range of topics that can be covered in this course, ranging from the foundations of using Ancestry and establishing a family tree to more advanced topics such as overcoming brick walls and delving deeper into historical and genealogical material.

About the presenter

• James Calaski completed his undergraduate studies at William Paterson University of New Jersey in 1998.
• He served with the Glen Rock, New Jersey, Police Department for over twenty years, earning numerous awards and citations.
• He later earned a Master of Arts in History from William Paterson University of New Jersey in May 2013.
