"From Revolution to Solution: Informed Cinema and Conversation About Newark"

In honor of Black History Month, Emmy-nominated, award-winning filmmakers Marylou and Jerome Bongiorno will present a film lecture titled  "From Revolution to Solution: Informed Cinema and Conversation About Newark" on Thursday, February 21 at 6:30 pm.  Newark, New Jersey's largest city, has a complex and rich history and clips from three documentaries by the filmmakers will be shown and examined: Revolution '67, The Rule, and Rust.  These  films will allow a look at the past, present and future of Newark and participants will learn about and discuss the opportunities and challenges of urban environments by examining Newark as a microcosm. This program is funded by a grant from the Public Scholars Project of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
