Meet The Author: Laura Sims ("The Looker")

Meet The Author: Laura Sims ("The Looker")

LAURA SIMS is the author of Looker, a novel; four books of poetry, most recently Staying Alive; and the editor of Fare Forward: Letters from David Markson.

A tightly-wound psychological thriller and a catalogue of voyeuristic pleasures, Laura Sims’s LOOKER (Scribner) is a debut novel that dissects our image-worshipping culture even as it hurtles to an eruptive, Hitchcockian climax.

The novel is about a woman whose obsession with the actress on her block drives her to the edge.

With sparkling literary language and an arsenal of deadly thrills, LOOKER combines the bravura voice of Ottessa Moshfegh and the psychological fascinations of Paula Hawkins into an enormously entertaining tale for our media saturated era.

Laura will talk about her experience writing her debut novel, read excerpts from it, and also share advice with aspiring novelists and poets.

Copies of her book will be available for purchase.

Free and open to all.
