Author Visit : Anthony Suarez
Anthony Suarez, author of Politically Indicted: the Real Story Behind the Jersey Sting, will be at the New Milford Public Library to talk about his memoir. In 2009, Ridgefield, New Jersey Mayor Suarez was arrested and charged with extortion and bribery as a part of Operation Bid Rig III, the biggest political sting operation in the history of New Jersey. He was accused of extortion and conspiracy after a meeting with one of the key players in a large scale corruption ring that eventually resulted in the arrests of more than twenty-five public officials. The book details the tumult of Suarez's time as Mayor of Ridgefield, New Jersey from indictment to acquittal. The talk will be held at the New Milford Public Library on Monday May 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
