Mark Twain Becomes a Jersey Boy - His Friendship with Thomas Nast

Seton Hall Prep. English teacher John Pascal will present a lecture about the personal and professional friendship of “the father of the American political cartoon” Thomas Nast and America’s master storyteller, humorist and writer Mark Twain.  While visiting the Garden State at least 15 times, Mark Twain spent a memorable Thanksgiving evening in Nast’s Morristown home in 1884. He also asked Nast to illustrate several of his stories. Twain’s lecturing presence in the Garden State will also be discussed.
