Kids' Art Class for Gr. 4-6: Op Art Shaded Shapes
This class will explore the theme of “Op Art”, a movement made popular in the 1960’s. Students will create a drawing (optical illusion) that can play tricks on the eyes as it appears to move. We will look at the work of artists such as M.C. Escher, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley to use as motivation. This is a step by step process for all skill levels. Most students will be able to complete an op art piece during the 90 min. session.
This class will be taught by local artist and instructor Barbara Sax. Barbara Sax taught art for 38 years and is a member of the Arts Council of Livingston.
