This Senior Happening will be hosted online! Register using the form below and make sure to include your email address (please double check the spelling!). On Friday, September 18th at 11am you will receive a link to the Zoom event via the email you provided (2 hours before the event goes live).

The Livingston Public Library invites the public to a virtual Senior Happening on Friday, September 18th at 1pm when the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) presents “Broadway Bound.” Via Zoom, audiences will experience virtual performances by an NJSO string quartet, as well as commentary and a musician Q&A. This performance is being offered through the NJSO’s Community Partners Program.

American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, one of the great icons of the 20th century, believed the Broadway musical to be at the core of the American cultural experience and the country’s lasting artistic contribution to the world. This program features music from Bernstein’s most famous musical, West Side Story, as well as songs from a host of other legendary composers, all arranged for string quartet. These selections span decades of great musicals, from the classic The Sound of Music to the timeless The Phantom of the Opera and more.

This free event is limited to 300 registrants on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required and may be done at www.livingstonlibrary.org.

Senior Happening is made possible in part by funds from the Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and through the support from the Friends of the Livingston Library.
