CANCELED: Ornamental and Edible Flowers

CANCELED: Ornamental and Edible Flowers

The current public health concern involving the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is continuing to unfold.  The Library has been working closely with local and state authorities to make decisions that prioritize public health and safety. Per CDC guidelines for public gatherings, out of an abundance of caution, most events will be canceled or postponed until such time as more information is available and health officials provide updated guidance. At this time, these are only precautionary measures as we consider and care for the safety of our patrons.  We are working on rescheduling the program in the future.

Why limit your garden space to plants that are simply attractive and eye catching? Grow ornamental plants which are both pleasing to the eyes, and to the palate. Learn which flowering plants are edible, in this engaging presentation . Participants will explore the world of edible flowers, try their hands at creating candied flower petals. And finish with a sampling of a floral treat.

Presented by Althea LLewellyn, Environmental Educator at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ.  She is a certified Square Foot Gardening instructor, Master Tree Steward, and a certified Master Gardener.

Free and open to all.
