CANCELED: Women's History Month Film Festival

CANCELED: Women's History Month Film Festival

The current public health concern involving the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is continuing to unfold.  The Library has been working closely with local and state authorities to make decisions that prioritize public health and safety. Out of an abundance of caution, all large events and events for Senior Citizens will be cancelled or postponed until such time as more information is available and health officials provide updated guidance. At this time, these are only precautionary measures as we consider and care for the safety of our patrons. We are working on rescheduling the program for the future.

5:00pm piano concert by highly regarded pianist Danny Mixon

6:00pm Film shorts and a screening of “I Remember,” an Indian film that looks at the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease on a vibrant journalist. The film essays stolen memories and broken hearts that are the intense experience of a woman and her family as they come to terms with the early onset of Alzheimer’s.

"Woman In Media – Newark is an organization that educates the public about issues affecting the lives of women using film, video and new media as our platform. Merging culture and academia, we rally behind our sisters who courageously struggle to assume leadership roles in the film industry with their conscious effort to present a balanced image of women, dispelling the stereotypes, and changing public perception of their sisters worldwide."
