Premiere of NEW Isolation Art with Liz Ndoye: Available on Facebook and YouTube
During this time of "social distancing," Liz Ndoye will be sharing a series of digital art lessons.
ART WITH LIZ NDOYE - WEDNESDAYS AT THE HOBOKEN PUBLIC LIBRARY
During the month of May, Liz Ndoye will focus on Japanese American, Chinese, and Chinese American artists. Asian American artists have contributed tremendously to the cultural heritage of the American tradition and are frequently overlooked in the traditional American canon.
Today's class will focus on Isamu Noguchi the extraordinary Japanese American sculptor will be our focus. Noguchi created powerful sculpture using stone, wood, and metal. They are often referred to as engineering and architectural feats of gravity defying balance. After looking at images of his work. Students will be shown how to take natural forms like stones, shells, pieces of driftwood to create their own mini Noguchi style sculpture.
