This Facebook Live class will introduce cooking enthusiasts to the delicious & healthy world of vegetarian Indian food with ingredients that can be easily found in your pantry or the local grocery store

Chana Masala
Ingredients
Cook time 30 min
Prep time 15 min
Serves 4
- 1 and ½ cup chick peas
- 2 tea bags
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 3 cup water
Pressure cook - 1and 1/2 cup kabuli chana / chickpea soaked overnight and pressure cooked for 4-5 whistles with 2 tea bags and 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp cumin powder or can use 2 cans of 15 oz chick peas
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2 medium tomatoes or ½ cup of can tomato sauce/puree
- ½ tsp cumin / jeera
- pinch hing / asafetida
- Whole spices if handy(2 cloves, 2 bay leaves, 4-5 black pepper corns, 2 inches piece of cinnamon)
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp dry mango powder or dry pomegranate powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
