The Livingston Public Library invites the public to a virtual Senior Happening this July when Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre Presents a reading of the play, Ripcord.  Dreamcatcher is a professional yet intimate theatre company in residence at Oakes Center in Summit. Their year-long season includes plays, improv comedy, a holiday special, new play readings, and a summer youth program, along with many outreach and education programs for youth, adults and seniors. The Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre professional ensemble of actors builds community with their audience by sharing contemporary, life-affirming stories that challenge, energize and entertain.

Ripcord Blurb: A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with the new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden. The play was written by By David Lindsay-Abaire and will be directed for this Senior Happening by Laura Ekstrand.
