This Facebook Live class will introduce cooking enthusiasts to the delicious & healthy world of vegetarian Indian food with ingredients that can be easily found in your pantry or the local grocery store
Join us on the Library's Facebook at 5:30 PM! The video will be Live and then recorded if you want to watch it later.
Here is the recipe and shopping list:
Week 5- Crispy Onion Pakoda(Fritters) with Green Chutney
Prep time 10 min
Cook Time- 20 min
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS for PAKODA/FRITTERS
- 2 Medium sized onions, thinly sliced
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 green chilli, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp cilantroleaves, finely chopped
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- pinch of asafoetida
- ½ tsp ajwain/caraway seeds
- 1 cup besan/gram flour
- 2 tbsp rice flour (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- oil for deep frying
INGREDIENTS for GREEN CHUTNEY
- 1 cup cilantro leaves
- ½ cup mint leaves
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 tbsp roasted crushed peanuts
- 2-3 green chilli
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
