VIRTUAL - Love Your Bones
On October 20th which is National Osteoporosis Day, the Livingston Library presents a virtual program via Zoom, “Love Your Bones” in collaboration with Kessler Rehab, which will talk about bone health across the life-span and for different ages.
Topics that will be addressed include--What can you do to improve your kids’ bone health now, to ensure their bones grow to their maximal potential and stay strong for their entire life? What can parents and grandparents do to improve their own bone health?
One of the consequences of weak bones is fractures. Fractures occur in all age groups and can often be prevented. Learn about how our bones develop and change over time, what we can do to maximize bone health at any age, how to build and maintain bone density, and lifestyle habits that can negatively impact skeletal health.
The guest speaker will be Jenna Cotugno PT, DPT, a physical therapist at Kessler Rehabilitation Center in Pine Brook, NJ. Jenna has been with Kessler since January 2018 and has recently become certified in Revital, an oncology rehabilitation program. She has been a member of Kessler’s Bone Health Special Interest Group for 1 year, where she has furthered her knowledge and skills in bone health across the lifespan.
This program is open to all and registration is required.
Registered attendees will be emailed information on how to connect to the Zoom chat room the day before the event.
