VIRTUAL Meet the Author Danielle Martin

VIRTUAL Meet the Author Danielle Martin

The Livingston Public Library invites you to join us on Zoom  for a virtual Meet the Author Event with author Danielle Martin. Martin will be discussing her debut novel Glimmer As You Can, which was published in November 2020 by Alcove Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House. An author Q&A session will follow the discussion.

Glimmer As You Can  is a historical novel set in 1962 Brooklyn and tells the story of the Starlite, a dress shop which transforms to an underground women’s social club in the evening, uniting women from various backgrounds and struggles. Allison Pataki, New York Times bestselling author of The Queen’s Fortune describes the novel as one “Told against the historic backdrop of a time of great social change, and with colorful language and details, this is a timely and beautiful story of female friendship and strength, of the secrets we all carry behind our smiles, and the power to be found in a sisterhood of supportive women.”

Martin graduated from New York University with a B.F.A. in film, television, and English literature. She began her career as an assistant at the William Morris Agency before pursuing her Master’s in teaching. She has since worked in New York, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana as an educator.

This event is open to all, but registration is required. The day before the program and email with information on how to access the Zoom presentation will be sent to you.
