VIRTUAL Home Food Preservation: Freezing the Harvest and Other Foods

VIRTUAL Home Food Preservation: Freezing the Harvest and Other Foods

Freezing summer produce is easy.   Plus, you get to enjoy the fresh flavor later in the year.

Learn the best practices to freeze produce from your garden or the local farm market to enjoy all year.  In this virtual presentation, you’ll learn proven techniques for freezing your favorite meals, snacks and other foods so as to preserve color and flavor.  You will gain tips for how to blanch vegetables, keep the color in fruit, freeze herbs, reduce the risk of freezer burn and make freezer jam.

Presented by Daryl Minch, the Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) Educator and a tenured faculty member for Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County.  She has provided leadership for the FCHS program since 1985 as well as for statewide FCHS initiatives.  Daryl’s expertise is in food and nutrition, food allergies, food safety, and food preservation.
