"Positively Poetry Reading Series"

"Positively Poetry Reading Series"

In honor of National Poetry Month, nine award-winning and published poets will present a "Positively Poetry Reading Series" on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm throughout April on the Library's Facebook page. The poets will be reading uplifting poems about Spring and nature (birds, flowers, butterflies, etc.) as well as poems focusing on other upbeat topics.

On Thursday, April 22, award-winning and published poet Theresa Burns of South Orange will read poems from her chapbook "Two Train Town" as well as some of her other poems. For two decades she worked as an editor for several major book publishers. Since 2004, she has been teaching writing at the Fashion Insitute of Technology in New York City and at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.  She recently won Honorable Mention in the 2020 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Prize.

Registration is not required, but videos of the poetry readings can be viewed on the Library's Facebook page.
