Separate registration required for each Kids Cookin' class.

Meets in person outside.  These classes will involve fresh fruit and other possible allergens.  

Kids Cookin' is a book group mixed with hands-on learning. Prior to each meeting, a specific cookbook for kids will be available for check out at the library.  Kids read the cookbook and try a recipe or two at home before our meeting.  At our meeting we'll talk about the recipes in the book and what we'd like to make. 

Everyone makes a treat to eat or take home to share.  Young chefs learn practical skills like measuring, chopping, straining and mixing while they explore math and other STEM topics.

June 25 - The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs by America's Test Kitchen Kids OR The Complete DIY Cookbook for Young Chiefs by America's Test Kitchen - Both of these titles and more by America's Test Kitchen Kids are available on Libby by Overdrive & at the Tenafly Library.  A selection of cookbooks by America's Test Kitchen Kids will be available for you to borrow from the front desk at the Tenafly Library beginning June 18th.  Please feel free to check out a book even if you cannot make the class!  Let us know what you have cooking at home!

For this class we will be making Mac & Cheese Mix (to take home) and flavored syrups for homemade soda, lemonade, or flavored water.  We'll enjoy a cool drink & have syrup to take home too!

July 16 - The ultimate kids' baking book : 60 easy & fun dessert recipes for every holiday, birthday, milestone and more by Tiffany Dahle. Copies of this title will be available at the front desk to borrow beginning July 9th.  Please feel free to borrow any of our cookbooks in the Children's Room whether you can make the class or not!  They are located under the number J 641.  

This class we will be making an ice box cake to take home and share with the family. 

August 6th - Kids cook! : 100+ super-easy, delicious recipes / Good Housekeeping.  Copies of this title will be available at thr front desk to borrow beginning July 23.  Please feel free to borrow any of our cookbooks in the Children's Room whether you can make the class or not!  They are located under the number J 641.  

This class we will be making Veggie Rolls to snack on and bring home as well.
