Meet the Author Book Talk! Chip Cheek, author of "Cape May"

Meet the Author Book Talk! Chip Cheek, author of "Cape May"

In honor of National Library Week, best-selling author Chip Cheek will present a virtual Book Talk/ Meet the Author event on Wednesday, April 21 at 7:00 pm to discuss his popular debut novel "Cape May."

Compared to "The Great Gatsby," this new novel focuses on innocent young newlyweds from Georgia who arrive in Cape May, NJ in September 1957 to celebrate their honeymoon. They find the resort shore town deserted, except for a small group of glamorous people who sweep them up into their whirlwind drama. The empty beach town becomes their playground as they sneak into abandoned summer homes, go sailing, walk naked under the stars, make love, and drink a great deal of smooth gin.  The lives of the innocent young newlyweds are changed forever.

The best-selling author Chip Cheek will read passages from the book, describe his writing process and inspiration for the book, and will answer questions from the audience. This program will be hosted on Zoom and registration is required. People can purchase the book online in adavnce from Little City Books at this link: https://www.littlecitybooks.com/book/9781250297464.
