Thanks for the Pink Slip: The Upside of Being Downsized, Fired, Let Go, Laid Off, Eliminated, Terminated, Etc.

Thanks for the Pink Slip: The Upside of Being Downsized, Fired, Let Go, Laid Off, Eliminated, Terminated, Etc.

Whatever your boss calls it, you’ve been fired. Instead of holding the infamous “pity party,” try hosting a celebration bash for yourself. After all, you are now FREE to explore new possibilities, perhaps find a job you really could love, finish that screenplay you started in college, join the Peace Corp, or follow your passion into a self-employment venture.

Consider the statistic: Given recent events surrounding the Pandemic, The New York Times states the unemployment rate is hovering around 8% (this is a volatile number and is subject to change day to day) and that does not include those whose unemployment benefits have run out, those who have not held a job long enough to qualify for unemployment benefits, and the seniors who have stopped looking after being beaten down by ageism. And then there is the new hiring practice being enforced by many human resource gatekeepers — don’t offer an interview to anyone who is not currently employed!

This webinar prepares you for success even if you have “lost” your job. The topics covered include understanding the nature of being passionate about what you know and what you do and developing your passion into a money-making venture, whether that be as a business owner or an employed person.

Constance Hallinan Lagan brings information and insight, humor and hope, to the platform every time she speaks. Listed in Who’s Who, The World’s Who’s Who of Women and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Connie has presented for hundreds of colleges, universities, government agencies, corporations, labor unions, churches, hospitals, health care agencies and associations nationwide. She presents in the areas of business development, career advancement and personal enrichment.
