VIRTUAL Return To Normal? But What Does That Look Like For Our Dogs?

VIRTUAL Return To Normal? But What Does That Look Like For Our Dogs?

Has your dog formed a close attachment to you during the past year? Are you worried about how your four legged friend will adjust as everyone returns back to school and the office?  If so, the Livingston Public Library invites you to join us virtually on Zoom Thursday, August 5th at 7pm for a lecture style presentation on “Return To Normal: But What Does That Look Like For Our Dogs?”

During this workshop Stacey Samela, Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant for Kathy Santo Dog Training, will address the topic by explaining how the past year may have created “velcro dogs.”  Samela will cover how this could result in challenges when everyone (but the dog) leaves the house, resulting in behaviors such as barking, chewing, and anxiety. Samela will help dog owners create a plan of solutions easy to implement to make the transition back to normal as seamless as possible.  She will also cover how to prevent the “velcro dog” phenomena from occurring with your new dog or puppy.

This program is scheduled to take place virtually through Zoom, so all creatures two and four legged are welcome to attend! Registration is required.  An email with information on how to access the Zoom workshop will be sent to you the day before the program is to take place.

This event is sponsered by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
