Niege Borges, LATIN CELEBRATION PART I - Art from Home

HONORING LATINO/LATINA AMERICAN ARTISTS
During the month of September, the art class will do projects that celebrate Latino American artists and their work. In each class, a
Latino artist will be introduced, their work will be discussed and viewed, and a project inspired by each particular artist will be offered
for students to work on.

SEPTEMBER 22, 2021
Our fourth artist will be Niege Borges a Brazilian born graphic designer and illustrator who is Brooklyn based. Her images are fun
and incredibly colorful. She is involved in the fashion industry and is inspired by high end fashion as well as street fashion that she
sees in her neighborhood - most especially she loves watching the kids and students in their daily activities. Bold, colorful, fashion
inspired artworks that portray women of different ethnicities, styles and sizes are her speciality. We will create our own portraits of
famous women in high end fashion using brightly colored media.
