Pianist Carolyn Enger--"Resonating Earth"

Pianist Carolyn Enger--"Resonating Earth"

Pianist Carolyn Enger returns to the Englewood Library  with a new slate of music celebrating American composers as well as Native American Heritage Month.

Resonating Earth focuses on the ongoing climate crisis, with music ranging from the Baroque to the present, including Bach, Debussy, Philip Glass, John Luther Adams, and Caroline Shaw, alongside stunning imagery of the environment by Peabody Award-winning producer Elliott Forrest (WQXR), visual artist Myles Aronowitz, and internationally-exhibited environmental activist and photographer J Henry Fair. The program seeks to transport listeners to a still, meditative space, inviting introspection about humanity’s place on the planet and inspiring action to protect our beautiful, fragile world. The full program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, John Luther Adams, Olivier Messiaen, Erik Satie, Caroline Shaw, John Cage, Wolfgang Rihm, Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Claude Debussy, and more.
