Poetry Writing Workshop

Poetry Writing Workshop

Celebrate National Poetry Month and join the Livingston Public Library in-person on Wednesday, April 6th at 7pm for a Poetry Writing Workshop.  During this workshop instructed by Catherine Doty of The Writer’s Circle, you’ll learn how you can discover your own creativity and unleash your poetic voice. Participants will engage in interactive creative writing exercises and prompts in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Although not all participants are guaranteed a chance to share their work during the program, everyone will write, engage, and have fun.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Catherine Doty is the author of Wonderama, a collection of poems that captures 1960s Paterson, New Jersey, as experienced by the poorest, most vulnerable children living there. She is also the author of an earlier volume of poems, Momentum, and Just Kidding, a collection of cartoons. She is widely published in journals and anthologies, and has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and The New York Foundation for the Arts.

Registration is not required for this event and all are welcome to attend.  Attendees are required to follow all current CDC guidelines. This program is part of the Livi Writes programming series and is sponsored by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
