Artist Abigail DeVille for Liz's Art at Home Celebration of Women's History Month

Artist Abigail DeVille for Liz's Art at Home Celebration of Women's History Month

For the month of March, 2022, our Art at Home classes will focus on the contributions of women in the visual arts. During each class we will spend time talking about the life and accomplishments of one singular female artist, look at and discuss her work, and then do an art project inspired by her style, aesthetic, or concept.

PLEASE REGISTER BELOW TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE CLASS BEGINS. THE SAME ZOOM LINK IS VALID FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH ONLY.

Our first artist on March 2, 2022 will be Abigail DeVille. DeVille was born in 1981 in New York, where she lives and works. Maintaining a long-standing interest in marginalized people and places, DeVille creates site-specific immersive installations designed to bring attention to these forgotten stories, such as with the sculpture she built on the site of a former African American burial ground in Harlem. In the tradition of DeVille’s practice we will create our own mini-installations or assemblages using found materials and detritus collected from around our homes.
