Artist Nancy Spero for Liz's Art at Home Celebration of Women's History Month

Artist Nancy Spero for Liz's Art at Home Celebration of Women's History Month

For the month of March, 2022, our Art at Home classes will focus on the contributions of women in the visual arts. During each class we will spend time talking about the life and accomplishments of one singular female artist, look at and discuss her work, and then do an art project inspired by her style, aesthetic, or concept.

PLEASE REGISTER BELOW TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE CLASS BEGINS. THE SAME ZOOM LINK IS VALID FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH ONLY.

Finally, our artist of focus this week will be Nancy Spero. Spero a native of Cleveland, Ohio, was born in 1926. She received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1949), and honorary doctorates from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1991) and Williams College (2001). She is a foremother of feminist art. Her work since the 1960s is an unapologetic statement against the pervasive abuse of power, Western privilege, and male dominance.
