Liz Ndoye: Brings Art and Poetry into your home in Celebration of National Poetry Month! Live on Zoom
Looking for a unique and interesting art experience? Look no further than the upcoming workshop and lecture on John William Waterhouse presented by Liz Ndoye. This event is perfect for adults who want to learn more about one of the most celebrated Pre-Raphaelite painters. Attendees will have the opportunity to see original works by Waterhouse as well as participate in a hands-on workshop where they will create their own masterpiece inspired by great lines of poetry. What could be more fun than that? So come join us in celebrating National Poetry Month with this exciting event!
For the first class on April 6, we will look at John Willian Waterhouse’s Lady of Shallot. This beautiful painting is inspired by a work by Alfred Lord Tennyson, the story of Elaine of Astolat. It is a bittersweet tale - a poem with a sad ending that lead Waterhouse to create his work of art. After looking at and discussing this work of art, students will be invited to read a line of poetry and then create their own painting inspired by what they have shared and read.
