Tenakill Water & You, Clean Community Workshop, adults & families children ages 8+

Tenakill Water & You, Clean Community Workshop, adults & families children ages 8+

With your help and an enviroscape, we will model how litter dropped far away from water makes its way into the water. Then we will participate in a community clean up around the library and Tenakill Brook to decide if we're doing a good job of protecting our water or if there's more we can do.

You'll be volunteering your time to help in this clean up effort so we'll give you a certificate of participation that documents time spent on this project.

Come dressed to get dirty. We'll provide gloves and receptacles for garbage collected.

This workshop is presented by Susan Golden Education. Susan's mission is to help people understand how we interact with our shared home, the Earth. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Hackensack Riverkeeper and the Tenafly Nature Center, and she is a past chairperson of her local environmental commission.  When Susan began teaching Environmental Science, she realized too many people do not know enough about the world in which we live.  Many people do not understand how our communities interact with nature. Consequently, it became her passion to inform people about the impacts that society has on the environment so that we can make the smartest choices now and for future generations. Join us for another interesting event with Susan.
